A Path Toward an Interoperable Health Record
The HIMSS Interoperability & Health Information Exchange (I&HIE) Committee convened a specialized Work Group that consisted of industry thought leaders, vendor representatives and subject matter experts to review the Draft 2017 ISA and formulate comments to the ONC before the Final 2017 ISA is issued in Dec. 2016.

YourTurn at HIMSS17 is a chance for you to help identify the topics discussed at this year's conference. The top submitted proposals have been selected by a HIMSS team of reviewers. Now it is up to you to vote on the sessions you would like to attend at HIMSS17. The topics with the most votes will be selected to be featured in unstructured, 60-minute sessions designed to generate a lively and spontaneous dialog. Voting will take place from Nov. 7 - Dec. 5, and can be found on the YourTurn Webpage.

HIMSS Submits Comments on 2017 Draft Interoperability Standards Advisory
In an Oct. 23 letter to Dr. Vindell Washington, the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology at the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC), HIMSS submitted its comments in response to the 2017 Draft Interoperability Standards Advisory.

Call for speaking proposals
The HIMSS Learning Center presents educational sessions for the HIMSS membership on a regular basis. In a continuing effort to present information that meets the needs of HIMSS members, the center is calling for proposals on the following topics: cyber security, analytics, population health, unified communications and network infrastructure. If you are working in a provider organization and are able to share a recent success story, please write to and share your idea for an educational presentation.
