HIMSS CEO to Retire at End of 2017; Search Underway
H. Stephen Lieber, CAE, president and chief executive officer of HIMSS, has announced his intention to retire at the end of 2017. Lieber, 63, assumed this role in April 2000 and has led HIMSS through a period of significant change in healthcare and information technology. During his tenure, HIMSS has become an influential association voice, thought leader, resource and advisor driving global transformation of health and healthcare through the best use of IT.

HIMSS17 Interoperability & Standards Breakfast Panel | Tearing down Interoperability Barriers: Real Life Impact on Business, Technology, & People
Interoperability in healthcare can be a vexing concept. Are we talking about how information is exchanged or are we really speaking about how stakeholders and systems across the health ecosystem interact to create a complete picture of an individual's health? This panel will tear down these perceived walls and give attendees real world examples of interoperability in action from a technological and an organizational perspective, as well as explore the "real life" impact on provider workflow and the individual. *Complimentary registration is now open - space is limited!
