Moderated by Toria Shaw, MSW, HIMSS TIGER Staff Liaison, Manager of Clinical Informatics.

HIMSS Approved Education Partners Program
Are you familiar with the HIMSS Approved Education Partner (AEP) program?  An Approved Education Partner is an organization that has met rigorous education and training for health IT and healthcare content requirements and is approved by HIMSS to offer health information technology training.  This exclusive designation signifies that a program meets or exceeds HIMSS’ quality educational programming standards and expectations in the field of HIT.  Organizations that can benefit from the prestige and worldwide attention of the AEP designation may be found in academia, consulting firms, vendor organizations, and others in both the for-profit or non-profit sector.

C-CDA Documents Provide the Building Blocks for Meaningful Exchange
C-CDA Documents are a promising vehicle for interoperability, though misconceptions are common. Read Health Story Project member Nick Mahurin’s blog post on these documents, which can be leveraged for more meaningful data exchange. Many know and utilize the Continuity of Care Document (CCD), but Nick points to other document types that can better serve specific use cases for exchange. These various document templates are discussed in depth in a recent Health Story Project Roundtable. If you couldn’t attend, listen to the recording here!
