The Value Brief

What are the STEPS to Finding Value?
In 2013, HIMSS created the Health IT Value Suite, which involved collecting examples of measurable value from the use of digital health by physicians, hospitals and other organizations.

As the collection grew, HIMSS was able to identify patterns. From those patterns HIMSS created the Health IT STEPS framework, which provides the healthcare industry with a language around value so that healthcare stakeholders can talk more clearly about it, seek it out, and learn to measure it.

In 2017, HIMSS redesigned its new Health IT Value Suite, so it can better act as a resource healthcare providers can use to help identify how well an organization drives value out of its digital health technologies and associated processes.
The HIMSS Health IT Value Suite and its STEPS framework can also be used to help identify opportunities to drive more value from people, processes and technology. How did others do it? What were their outcomes?

Learn more about the STEPS to Value framework, and discover ways other organizations have found value.
