HIMSS Response to the 2016 Interoperability Standards Advisory
In a March 21 letter to Dr. Karen DeSalvo the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology at the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC), HIMSS submitted its comments in response to the 2016 Interoperability Standards Advisory. Take a moment to check out our final HIMSS 2016 comments.

Healthcare IT News creates a 'room of one's own' for women in health IT
The results of a 2015 HIMSS survey of 20,000 women in health IT on workplace, job satisfaction, recognition and opportunities to move up – coupled with another on salaries for women in this field compared with compensation for men – spoke clearly to HIMSS Executive Vice President Carla Smith. Both surveys revealed pressing needs for resources and community for women in health IT. As part of a robust strategy, Healthcare IT News launched a dedicated section of the website – "a room of one's own," so to speak – exclusively focused on news, career advice, profiles, success stories and recognition of women in health IT and the issues that are most pressing. In addition, a Women in Health IT newsletter is being launched. Be part of the conversation; receive monthly updates on the progress being made and stay informed.

Register now to hear this panel of experts and more discuss the next step in healthcare.

Breaking the People Data Silos: Building the Value Analytics Team
In the era of reimbursement redesign, volume-to-value transformation, and shared-decision making, healthcare must create a data framework that is flexible and inter-operable. Technical transformation is only as good as the people making the transition though and Chief Data and Analytics Officer Danyal Ibrahim, from Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, Connecticut, will take attendees on his journey to break down "people" data silos, and bring together cross functional teams from finance, decision support, IT, quality, clinical service lines and support platforms. Learn about this and more at the Big Data and Healthcare Analytics Forum in San Francisco, June 14-15. Click here to register.
