How to Implement High-Impact Mobile Patient Engagement
According to Adam Licurse, population health management associate medical director, Partners Healthcare, patients forget up to 86 percent of what their doctors tell them. Since 2014, Boston-based Partners HealthCare has used mobile health technology to allow physicians to create videos related to a condition or episode of care. Patients can access the videos through Partners portal, by having a link emailed to them, or on Facebook. 385 physicians have deployed videos, which have been viewed 21,000 times. At the May 19-20 Pop Health Forum 2016 in Boston, Licurse will explain how the program works, and the role it plays in helping Partners sustain top clinical and financial results as the industry shifts to value-based care.
