We have an abundance of technology in healthcare, but we’re slow at knitting it together to maximize the value delivered to patients. In this blog, Sean Kennedy, MS, PMP, MPH, Chair of the HIMSS Exploring Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Technology for Healthcare Task Force, discusses the relationship gap in healthcare, CRM as a potential solution and the ongoing work by this Task Force.
How can CRM create value in healthcare?

The HIMSS Exploring CRM Technology for Healthcare Task Force has published this definition of CRM in Healthcare, and is focused on identifying how this technology can be used in this era of interoperability and value-based care.
Read the definition here.

Anticipated Health and Human Services (HHS) regulations are expected to provide standards for electronic documents used as attachments to support reimbursement-related transactions. On February 5, a HIMSS Health Story Project Roundtable discussed the attachment standards: their usage, the business case for their adoption and their potential to move us closer to a patient-centered, longitudinal, electronic record – closer, that is, to a more complete “health story.”
Learn about these attachment standards and their uses.

HIMSS Interoperability Champions and Supporters are those organizations who support nationwide, ubiquitous, secure electronic exchange of health information. For many years, HIMSS and our valued collaborators have worked relentlessly to ensure individuals and organizations can routinely use secure, trustworthy, interoperable technologies and work flows to promote wellness and improve the health status of patients and populations. While we’ve made much progress, and entire careers have been spent creating the building blocks, our work is not complete.
Now is the time for bold action.
