This is your final week to submit a proposal to present a poster at the 2019 HIMSS Global Conference & Exhibition in Orlando, Florida. The conference will be held Monday, February 11, 2019 - Friday, February 15, 2019. If your poster is selected, it will be displayed in tandem with the HIMSS19 Career Fair on Wednesday, February 13 from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm at the Hyatt Regency Orlando. Poster presenters will be required to attend the Career Fair during a designated time to participate in a question and answer session regarding the poster being presented. For HIMSS19 we are seeking proposals for two categories, Early Careerists and Students. Infant mortality in the U.S. is on the rise and impacting underserved communities and people of color more than anyone else. Our nation needs solutions from developers who can help reduce infant mortality through innovative use of technology. The HIMSS Developer Challenge, in partnership with OurHealthyCommunity.com, is intentionally focused on creating technology solutions that save lives in these populations and offer new and effective resources for those who serve them. During the two month challenge, we’re giving developers direct access to an online group of underserved community members, community health workers and others in allied services with the aim of developing technology that improves birth outcomes and reduces infant mortality rates. The Personal Connected Health Alliance (PCHAlliance) announced today that Cantina Consulting has joined the 2018 Connected Health Conference as its digital design and development partner. The focus of the partnership is to help organizations continue implementing technology in ways that amplify healthcare and promote a personal approach to health.

Are you thinking about pursuing your CAHIMS certification? Join us for a four (4) part virtual CAHIMS Review Course series beginning on Tuesday, October 9, 2018. Each two (2) hour class will cover a review of the CAHIMS competency areas using materials from the CAHIMS Review Guide and other supplementary materials. Sessions will be led by a certified instructor who will bring industry specific experience to the conversation to enhance learning. HIMSS Student Case Competition Now Open
Apply now for the HIMSS Student Case Competition. The HIMSS Student Case Competition provides opportunities for inter-disciplinary teams comprised of undergraduate, graduate, residents, or Fellows to demonstrate proficiency in understanding of the vast body of knowledge that comprises health information technology. By analyzing a HIMSS-supplied case study, teams have the opportunity to “design the future” with an eye towards transformative care today. From this analysis, teams should apply recommendations that support current health information technology practices that involve transformative care while coupling recommendations with advocacy outreach at the Federal and State level. Benefits provided to the top two teams.
