Dr. AbuSalah is a flexible healthcare informatics, analytics, and intelligence leader delivering tangible outcomes for the support of healthcare industry and research. Currently he serves as the Healthcare Informatics and Intelligence Officer at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center; where he supports the setup of the Center of Healthcare Intelligence (CHI) and deployment of innovative AI systems.  He is also an affiliate Health Informatics Professor at the University of Minnesota. Prior to that he served in multiple healthcare industry and academic positions such as: core professor and founding director of the clinical informatics and analytics core at the University of Minnesota, Chief Informaticist of the US National Center for Inter-professional Practice and Education (NCIPE), and Sr. Data Solution Consultant at Optum-UnitedHealth Group.

Dr. AbuSalah oversees the launching of applied AI and Informatics systems such as state-wide surveillance systems, infection and cancer detection, personalized medicine, and clinical outcomes and risk assessments.  

Dr. AbuSalah holds a PhD in Biomedical Informatics from University of Minnesota and a double Master Degrees from Purdue University and University of Illinois.
