Chairman of the Innovation and Development Committee
Daniel Forslund is Chairman of the Innovation and Development Committee in Region Stockholm, the largest healthcare provider and financier in Sweden. In 2014, he was elected Commissioner for Innovation and eHealth, and became politically responsible for initiatives, policies and strategic investments related to digitalization, innovation, medical technologies, eHealth and Life Science. Mr. Forslund is also Chairman of the National Digitalization Committee of the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions, and is one of five high level representatives in the governing board of Sweden's National "eHealth Vision 2025". He is also member of the board of Inera, the public company for national digital infrastructure in health and social care, as well as of KI Innovations, the Innovation Office of Karolinska Institute, Sweden's leading medical university. Mr. Forslund holds a master’s degree in Political Science, and previously worked as Deputy Director at the Health Care Division of the Swedish Ministry of Health and Social Affairs from 2002 to 2011. He has also served as Chief Strategy Officer at VINNOVA, the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation from 2011 to 2014.
