Chief Commercial Digital Officer, Global Vice President
Karan Arora currently serves as Chief Commercial Digital Officer, Global Vice President at AstraZeneca. In his role, he is responsible for the commercial organizations' agile/digital transformation. This includes. - Use of next-generation omnichannel Digital marketing capabilities (i.e, advanced analytics, AI/Automation, personalization of digital experiences) across Therapeutic Areas/Markets to drive commercial upside and operational efficiencies and, - Digital health initiatives across patients, providers, and payers to increase value across the ecosystem (i.e., reduction in healthcare costs, improved clinical patient outcomes). - AstraZeneca is working in partnership with Mass General Health System to co-develop a new digital service for heart failure patients and a patient-facing monitoring app and clinician dashboard for asthma - AstraZeneca has a two-year partnership with Imperial College London to create a suite of solutions for patients and HCPs to better monitor and manage patient risk. This will include a clinician-facing dashboard for direct care and a patient-facing platform that is enhanced by artificial intelligence to analyze data and generate predictive insights. Qualitative research is underway with patients, HCPs, and pharmacists. In the past, he worked at Abbott, Novartis, Hospira (now Pfizer), McKinsey & Company and Capgemini. He is actively involved as an angel investor, advising startup teams in the healthcare/technology space, and sits on the leadership committee of Chicago life Sciences Consortium. He is an industry expert in digital health (speaks at various conferences, published articles), digital marketing (recognized as one of the "40 under 40" leading marketers in the industry by Brand-Innovators in 2015 and 2017), and digital product/services commercialization.
