Erwin Böttinger is Professor for Digital Health and Personalized Medicine at the Digital Engineering Faculty of the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) at the University of Potsdam. In 2005 he became founding director of the Charles Bronfman Institute for Personalized Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, USA, which he headed until 2015. From 2015 to 2017 he was the Prof. in Personalized Medicine at the Charité University Medicine Berlin and CEO of the Berlin Institute of Health (BIH). In 2017 he moved to the University of Potsdam where, next to his Prof. assignment, he became the founding director and the Head of the HPI Digital Health Center. His interdisciplinary background spans molecular genetics, pharmacology, systems therapeutics, digital health and personalized medicine.
