HIMSS Chapter Advocate of the Year Award
Purpose and History
The HIMSS Chapter Advocate of the Year Award recognizes an individual who demonstrates extraordinary contributions to HIMSS chapters and society through leadership and dedication to advocacy and advancing public policy. The goal of this award is to highlight exemplary chapter leaders and recognize their hard work driving public policy in their state, locality, territory or province.
The HIMSS Chapter Advocate of the Year Award includes:
- Symbol of recognition
- Recognition in HIMSS publications
Eligibility, Criteria and Program Overview
To qualify for this award, nominated individuals must be on their chapter board of directors and must be an active HIMSS individual member in good standing for at least three years. Individuals who have received this award in the previous five years are not eligible for nomination. For additional criteria, please email policy@himss.org.
Nomination Process
The HIMSS chapter relations and government relations teams manage this award. For any questions, please email policy@himss.org.
Evaluation
Nominees will be evaluated based on their eligibility as well as their efforts and accomplishments in advocacy. HIMSS Chapter Advocacy Task Force leaders will vote on eligible nominees, and the HIMSS Board of Directors will review and approve the selection.
