On January 30, 2025, the HIMSS Iberian Community gathered at Hospital Arnau de Vilanova in Valencia, Spain, bringing together healthcare leaders, IT experts, and policymakers to explore strategies for implementing a unified regional electronic medical record (EMR) system. Second Annual HIMSS Native American & Indigenous Symposium Advances Tribal Health while Building Trust
HIMSS hosted its second annual Native American & Indigenous Symposium at the 2025 HIMSS Global Conference & Exhibition, bringing together members of the HIMSS Native American & Indigenous Community and others working to advance Tribal health. The symposium began with an opening ceremony and prayer by Wallace Coffey, former chairman of the Comanche Nation. During the initial discussion, Evan Dunne, HIMSS Government Relations Manager, moderated a discussion with General Dynamics Information Technology Vice President Donnie Parish and Oracle Health representatives Dr. James Ellzy and Nate Stafford. Each panelist discussed how their respective organizations are modernizing healthcare around the world through technology solutions, most notably in supporting the health and wellbeing of Tribal communities while respecting cultural integration and building community trust.

HIMSS and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to accelerate digital healthcare transformation in Korea. HIMSS President & CEO Hal Wolf and KHIDI President Soon-do Cha signed the agreement April 8, 2025, in Seoul, marking a significant milestone in Koreaâs commitment to building a digitally advanced healthcare ecosystem. With the global healthcare sectorâs growing expectation of digital transformation, nations worldwide are investing heavily in technologies that improve accessibility, efficiency and quality of care. This partnership will adopt the HIMSS Digital health Indicator (DHI) as the Korean Medical Digital Maturity Assessment Model.

The Digital Health Advisory Group for Europe has announced the theme for its 7th annual High-Level Meeting at the HIMSS25 Conference in Paris as Securing Tomorrow: Cyber Resilience and AI Innovation in European Healthcare. DHAGE stands as a dynamic platform for thought leadership among Europe's key decision-makers. Jointly organised by HIMSS, the Finnish Ministry for Social Affairs and Health, and the Shared Services in Ministry of Health, SPMS, Portugal, this forum empowers countries and international organisations to identify synergies and cultivate partnerships in the realm of digital health policies. It provides a platform for addressing complex challenges within digital health, enabling the identification of shared interests and the establishment of alliances focused on essential digital health policies. DHAGE members, representatives from European Ministries of Health and international organisations have chosen implementation of artificial intelligence and improving cybersecurity as critical topics of discussion due to their profound impact on the near future of healthcare systems.
