Helmut Oehring , CIO, Ascend Clinical Lab
Oehring has over 30 years’ experience in healthcare, manufacturing, global supply chain management, marketing and information technology. As the CIO for Ascend Clinical, he envisions and implements technology strategies to enhance patient care, grow revenue and improve profitability. His current initiatives include enhancing a healthcare clinic portal for direct physician and patient access, advanced integrations with clinic EMRs, leveraging AI to gain insights in extensive longitudinal data sets and automating the laboratory with robotics. Ascend Clinical is a clinical reference laboratory specializing in testing services for kidney disease.

Dr. Brian Levy, Executive Healthcare Physician, Cerner
Dr. Levy has expertise in creating software and content. He currently works for Cerner on the VA and DoD implementation and focuses on interoperability and terminology. Previously, as the chief medical officer, he helped lead Health Language from a healthcare IT startup to successful acquisition. He continues to practice telemedicine, using the latest technology in delivering everyday patient care. He also serves as the Colorado HIMSS Advocacy Chair.

Ako Quammie, Vice President of Data Management, COHRIO/Contexture
Quammie has over 15 years of experience working with many segments of the health care industry, including health systems, physician organizations, insurance providers, regional provider alliances and clinically integrated networks. His work is concentrated in enterprise and service line strategic planning, partnership/transaction planning and the design and execution of a wide range of healthcare information technology products and services. In addition, Quammie has extensive experience implementing clinical integration programs, electronic health record systems and quality reporting systems focused on population-level health improvement and development of the capabilities required to succeed under value-based payment arrangements.

Herman Oosterwijk, President, OTech Consulting
Herman is a healthcare imaging and IT consultant with expertise in the area of interface specifications between medical devices and healthcare IT software and systems through his participation of many years in standardization committees and working groups such as DICOM, HL7 and HIE. He has authored several textbooks and numerous articles about healthcare IT, in particular on the subject of electronic health records, picture archiving and communications systems, teleradiology and the digital imaging and communications in medicine standard. Oosterwijk has been asked to serve as an expert witness in legal cases where an opinion and/or assessment is needed in these subject areas. He recently finished his tour of duty as the co-chair of the HIMSS Interoperability & HIE Community.
