Sofia Cerdeira is a Clinician Scientist with a focused interest in preeclampsia and angiogenic factors. Sofia graduated in Medicine (University of Porto, Portugal) in 2003 and moved to Harvard Medical School to pursue research in preeclampsia. After completing her PhD in 2014, Sofia joined the University of Oxford in a combined academic and clinical position conducting research in angiogenic biomarkers test and pioneered the introduction of the diagnostic test in clinical practice. The Oxford group is supporting its implementation in hospitals throughout the United Kingdom and abroad. Sofia has published more than 35 basic science and clinical papers on preeclampsia.
