Accelerating Post-Surgery Care

On a special edition of the Accelerate Health podcast, we continue our series of spotlights on unique digital health startups that are changing the face of healthcare. Each of these companies was also be featured at the hybrid event for HIMSS Global Conference and Exhibition in Las Vegas.

The healthcare industry is embracing technology to assist with patient care more than ever before. With advances including wearable technology and remote appointments, patients are raising expectations for services that can be provided from the comfort of their own homes.

This week, we speak to Marc Gruner, MD, co-founder and chief medical officer for Limber Health. The platform provides at-home exercise therapy programs for musculoskeletal health (e.g., low back, shoulder, hip, neck, knee joints) and clinically validated outcomes tracking. Gruner discusses how it was created to fill a gap in between surgery and post-surgery care to empower patients with their rehab activities without sacrificing the quality.

According to Gruner, the platform was developed by doctors in sports medicine and physical therapy, as a digital health solution for employers, health plans, and providers. He also announces the groundbreaking news that the CPT codes are now cleared to use with this technology so providers can be reimbursed.
