HIMSS APAC Digital Dialogue Series: Episode 4

The fourth episode of the HIMSS APAC Digital Dialogue Series was hosted by HIMSS Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. Charles Alessi, who spoke with Prof Tunku Kamarul Zaman Bin Tunku Zainol Abidin, Director, University Malaya Medical Center; and Dr. Fazilah Shaik Allaudin, Senior Deputy Director, Medical Care Quality Section, Medical Development Division, Ministry Of Health, Malaysia to understand the role of digital health behind Malaysia's efficient health response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Learning Objectives

  • Understanding how digital tools performing in-house management of healthcare workers (HCW) at risk through in-house and mobile alerts, as well as monitoring and surveillance software – thus ensuring their welfare and wellbeing
  • Understanding how the use of electronic public e-screening in combination with EMR is useful in determining potential patients with COVID-19, and with this information, able to warn healthcare workers against potential hazards before they arrive as well, as to reduce the potential risk of spreading this disease to and from the hospital
  • Understanding how digital tools like MySejahtera App developed by the Malaysian government is an important tool in ensuring the dissemination of information on COVID-19 to educate healthcare workers and raise awareness amongst the general public
