Share your health IT story and make a difference.
Personal stories are powerful - and they matter. The business and technical elements of health IT can sometimes prevent us from understanding why our stories are so important. Put simply, technology better enables us to care for each other and ourselves. And we think that’s a notion worth sharing.

Your personal story can help demonstrate the value of health IT - and help inspire the work we still need to do. Have a story to share? Submit it here, or post it on your own blog and share it on your favorite social networks using #IHeartHIT and #NHITweek.

TIGER News

Download TIGER’s Informatics Definitions 2.0 Document Today!
In the fall of 2015, TIGER Committee members compiled interprofessional informatics definitions.  The purpose of creating this document was to collaboratively define and document core health informatics terminology in an effort to provide context to the global TIGER interprofessional, interdisciplinary community for consideration when terms are referred to on the TIGER’s main landing page on HIMSS.org, in official documents, and within the TIGER Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).  Our intention is for this resource to serve as a helpful tool for those learning about informatics and informatics competencies.

As the field of informatics and competencies grow and change, so will the terms defined within this resource. With this in mind, an update will be provided to this document annually. We are pleased to share that version 2.0 is now available for download - click here to access and download today!

Do you have a term, not currently listed, to share?  Email TIGER with your feedback and proposed inclusions.

TIGER VLE Curriculum Adoption Stories
This summer via the TIGER Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) webinar series & archive, we have been showcasing VLE curriculum adoption stories to inspire you on how to leverage resources and encourage you to join us on the journey of education reform.

On June 14th, we shared the SUNY Plattsburgh’s TIGER VLE Curriculum Adoption Stories shared how two faculty from the RN-BSN program utilized the TIGER VLEresources in their Nursing Informatics classes in the fall of 2016 and spring 2017. The fall class was taught in a hybrid format, in which 50% of the instruction was online and 50% was face-to-face, in the RN-BSN program while the other utilized the TIGER VLE as the primary resource for an online RN-BSN course taught in the spring of 2017.
