Hear from industry experts Dr. Bethany Niell, Dr. Marilyn Bui and Dr. Les Folio from Moffitt Cancer Center.

Speakers:

Dr. Bethany Niell

Dr. Niell received her MD and PhD degrees from the University of Michigan. She completed a Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she also served as Chief Resident. Dr. Niell is a board-certified subspecialty-trained diagnostic radiologist. Her clinical practice involves interpreting mammograms, ultrasound, breast MRI and performing image-guided breast biopsies. Dr. Niell is especially interested in the appropriate utilization of breast imaging, including breast MRI, mammography, and tomosynthesis, based on her background in public health.

Dr. Marilyn Bui

Marilyn M. Bui, MD, PhD, FCAP is a senior member in the Department of Pathology at Moffitt Cancer Center. She is also a professor and the director of the Cytopathology Fellowship at the University of South Florida (USF) Morsani College of Medicine. Dr. Bui’s mission is to combine research, education, advocacy and service to provide the best possible patient care. Her interests include identification and validation of diagnostic, prognostic and predictive biomarkers for cancers, especially sarcoma and breast cancer. She is also interested in the improvement of diagnostic accuracy, efficiency and the value of pathology by addressing practical issues in the field. Her expertise includes sarcoma pathology, cytopathology, biomarker testing and digital pathology. She has published over 180 peer-reviewed articles, 25 book chapters and 3 books.

Dr. Les Folio

Dr. Les Folio is a Senior Member in the Moffitt Cancer Center Department of Diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Radiology. Dr. Folio received a DO from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and an MPH degree from the University of California, Berkeley. He completed a residency in Radiology at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and a residency in Aerospace Medicine and General Preventative Medicine at the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine. Dr. Folio joined Moffitt from the National Institutes of Health, where he was a Senior Research Physician and lead computed tomography radiologist. Dr. Folio is passionate about leveraging augmented intelligence (human-driven artificial intelligence) to advance cancer imaging analytics and diagnostics. His research interests include improving precision of automated identification and quantification of metastatic tumor burden to optimize cancer therapeutic regimens.

Dr. Amy K Patel

Dr. Amy K. Patel was born and raised in rural Chillicothe, Missouri. Her interests include women’s health, traveling, running, fine arts and Kansas City sports! She entered into the field of Breast Imaging and Radiology because of her passion for women’s health, and to help close the gap of breast care disparities, while ensuring access to care for patients.
