To be eligible for the Organizational Affiliate program, your organization must be a healthcare provider or a public non-profit institution directly allied to care delivery. We also have a program for academic institutions.
Program types are based on the needs of your organization. You can contact the OA Sales Team, who can assist you in choosing the best affiliate organization level.

Yes, we can create a customized level (Premier) designed specifically for your health system.
Yes. The Academic Organizational Affiliate program is the right one for you. The program offers unlimited free student memberships, five free faculty memberships, bookstore discounts and more.
No, as an OA, your organization will receive an unlimited number of individual memberships. Anyone from your organization can join—including your IT staff, project owners, medical staff members and more. Academic OAs receive unlimited free student memberships.
As an OA, your current HIMSS members will be converted to an organizational individual membership. This is a seamless transition and does not impact a member’s benefits or personal information.
HIMSS will credit the unused portion of all remaining individual memberships against the fee for the Organizational Affiliate program.
Yes, once you become an affiliate organization, CHIME will no longer invoice you for HIMSS membership. If you pay CHIME for your HIMSS renewal by mistake, HIMSS can process a refund for you.
Yes, all OA members receive a free membership to the HIMSS chapter of their choice.
Individual members have access to networking and education opportunities; resources and tools on the HIMSS website; complimentary webinars; social networking; participation in committees and workgroups; publications; and much more. For more details, visit our Membership page.
No, the complimentary registrations cover your conference registration fee but do not include add-on events such as the CIO Forum, preconference sessions, etc.
Yes, you can earn credits towards renewal for a number of certifications, such as CPHIMS, CAHIMS and PMP.
OAs receive a 20% discount on the CAHIMS exam fee and a 10% discount on the CPHIMS exam fee. Your staff must register for the exam with their work email address to get the discount.
Please contact the OA Sales Team to discuss which level is most appropriate for your organization, and they will send you a contract for the program.
After you have returned the signed contract, your account manager will contact you to schedule an orientation to help you maximize your OA benefits.
