HIMSS Media Brands Earn 2020 Azbee Awards

HIMSS Media brands Healthcare IT News and Healthcare Finance News have been awarded 2020 Azbee Awards of Excellence by the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE).

ASBPE’s Azbee Awards is a competitive program for business-to-business, trade, association and professional publications based in the U.S. The awards recognize outstanding work by magazines, newsletters and digital media.

Mike Miliard, executive editor, won a regional Bronze Award in the Q&A category for his story, Eric Topol: EHRs have 'taken us astray,' but AI could fix healthcare in a 'meaningful and positive way'. The lengthy Q&A discusses the topics of most concern to health system decision-makers.

Susan Morse, managing editor, won a regional Silver Award in the Individual Profile category for her story, Former Aetna CEO Mark Bertolini talks about CVS, the Amazon experience and how insurers stay relevant. Morse brought questions to former Aetna CEO Mark Bertolini about how insurers stay relevant when the business model is changing drastically.

Bill Siwicki, features editor, won a regional Gold Award in the Web Feature Series category for his series on Health IT implementation best practices. This series of feature stories dives deep into implementation of a wide variety of technologies, going to experts in the field of each technology.

Healthcare IT News and Show Daily won a regional Bronze Award in the Trade Show/Conference Coverage category for reporting on The HIMSS19 Global Conference & Exhibition. The 2019 Show Daily featured coverage of CMS Administrator Seema Verma, Cleveland Clinic Chief Experience Officer Adrienne Boissy and many other top speakers. The highlight was an exclusive on-site interview with Epic CEO Judy Faulkner. A special collections page on Healthcare IT News also aggregated conference pieces from each information brand. This award recognizes Jonah Comstock, Jeff Lagasse, Laura Lovett, Mike Miliard, Susan Morse, David Muoio and Bill Siwicki for editorial; Rick Dagley, Karen Diekmann and Alethea Yip for production/editing; and Stephen Wellman for VP content.
