Powered by the HIMSS Foundation and the HIMSS Nursing Informatics Community, the Online Journal of Nursing Informatics is a free, international, peer reviewed publication that is published three times a year and supports all functional areas of nursing informatics.The journal was launched in 1996, with readership spanning over 49 countries.

The OJNI Scholarship

The Online Journal of Nursing Informatics (OJNI) Scholarship is an opportunity to recognize an individual in conjunction with the release of each published edition. The scholarship was established to ensure continued excellence in disseminating evidence for best practices in nursingn informatics and promtes the development of students and continued learners alike.

For the 2018 Spring edtion, HIMSS would like to honor Dr. Kathleen Hunter, Professor, MSN Program at Chamberlain College of Nursing LLC, for her continued leadership and strive to enhance the education of nursing informaticists in both her profession and as a volunteer at HIMSS.

We welcome voluntary submissions on a rolling basis. Manuscripts must represent original, unpublished material and represent a functional area of nursing informatics practice. Letter of inquiries to the OJNI Editorial Team are welcome. There are no article submission charges nor article processing charges for this journal. Manuscripts undergo a double-blind, peer review and publication is based upon the reviews.

The Online Journal of Nursing Informatics is an open-access journal. All content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.
