The topics with the most votes will be selected to be featured in unstructured, 60-minute sessions designed to generate a lively and spontaneous dialog. A Path Toward an Interoperable Health Record
The HIMSS Interoperability & Health Information Exchange (I&HIE) Committee convened a specialized Work Group that consisted of industry thought leaders, vendor representatives and subject matter experts to review the Draft 2017 ISA and formulate comments to the ONC before the Final 2017 ISA is issued in Dec. 2016.

HIMSS Submits Comments on 2017 Draft Interoperability Standards Advisory
In an Oct. 23 letter to Dr. Vindell Washington, the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology at the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC), HIMSS submitted its comments in response to the 2017 Draft Interoperability Standards Advisory.

Join New HIMSS Nursing Informatics Job Descriptions Workgroup
The Nursing Informatics field is growing substantially. As these roles vary throughout healthcare organizations, it is vital to have job descriptions that can be referenced for needed competencies. This workgroup will explore careers within Nursing Informatics to create standardized job descriptions that can be utilized to educate and expand the knowledge of individuals-from new nurses who want to learn about Nursing Informatics careers to existing Nursing Informaticists who want to broaden their career choices.
