As part of the Chapter Advocacy Roundtable program, HIMSS works to consistently engage state and regional Chapters to advocate for health information and technology policies at the grassroots levels. HIMSS recognizes chapters who complete a certain number of advocacy activities throughout the year.
The following chapters recently completed the HIMSS Chapter Advocacy Super Sweeps Challenge, which focused on completing advocacy activities particularly during National Health IT Week:
Kendall Brown and Erik Pupo, South Florida HIMSS
Shanti Wilson and John Conklin, Northern and Southern California HIMSS, respectively
Lee Castonguay, Hawaii-Alaska HIMSS
Bonny Cline, Colorado HIMSS
Rick Moore, Central and Southern Ohio HIMSS
Peter Mercuri, Delaware Valley HIMSS
HIMSS recognizes these volunteers for their dedicated advocacy efforts and looks forward to future recognition opportunities!
The Chapter Advocacy Super Sweeps Program focuses on generating greater recognition for the advocacy-related activities that HIMSS chapter advocates are already doing. Chapters had a variety of activities that they could complete and highlight their involvement in, and then update their advocacy plans to account for changes in timeline, structure, and policy environments. HIMSS Members who complete the challenge will receive recognition via HIMSS communication channels and at HIMSS18.
